Diet Plan part 2

After a successful diet month of April in which I almost lost about a kilo a week (I blogged about it here ), here I am thinking about doing it once again. May and June were diet holidays, first on account of Project timings and pressure and then on account of my Mumbai (Home) visit where dieting was out of question since I was looking forward to the home cooked delicacies made by Mom. So July month will again be a diet month for me. If I am not wrong, I am somewhere around 80+ KG in weight right now. Target is to reduce at least 3-4 KG in the coming 6 weeks. The dieting this time around will not be as strict as April wherein I had practically 'banned' a few items off my consumption, like white breads, chocolates, ice creams, pizza etc.   This time around there will be a good enough control on the intake of these 'restricted' items but no complete ban. Hence the conservative targets In fact, if all goes well, I will take a diet holiday in second half of august

The Poet in me ...

A few days ago I made a blog post with a poem here . I wrote in there that was my first attempt at a poem after a very loooong period of time. I had written 2 short poems in school ... well, I wasn't exactly correct there as my memory failed me once again there.   A few days while going through the loads of pages and junk I keep in my room, I discovered a singular A4 size printed sheet which had my school days English poem (Birthday Wishes)   printed on it. I also found another poem on it and as I read the title and the first stanza, it hit me that I had written this one in my college days.   So my poetry tally goes up to 4 Two in school days, one in early college days and one which I wrote recently I am too lazy to type so u might have to wait for a few posts to read the poems from my past :D

Back to Dubai

I am back to Dubai ... after spending about 10 days with my family !   It was a pretty energizing trip and a pretty eventful one too ...   When i left Dubai, I was working in Satyam Computer Services Ltd. By the time I am back, i am now with Mahindra Satyam !!! The name of my company has changed and so have sooo many other things in my company ! The trip was personally very energising since i went to Alibaug for a 1.5 days trip with 3 of my NITIE friends and a 1.5 day trip with my family to visit a temple away from my home town. Both trips were back to back with a matter of 3 hours home stay before each trip.    I flew out from Dubai on Friday night and reached home at 5 AM on Saturday morning ... in 3 hours left home by 8 AM to go to Nikhil's place. Came back from Alibaug around 6 PM and left home again with family by 9 PM ...   Came back by Monday Morning only !!!   It has been ages since i had gone out on a trip with friends ... in fact .. it has been sooo long th

The Thirsty Crow ... and the Smart One

Image
You can probably identify with the picture above ... Reminds us of the story of the Thirsty Crow who patiently threw pebbles into the pitcher so that the water level in the pitcher would rise to quench his thirst .. Now ... have a look at at the Modern Crow ... Not so intelligent maybe ... but simply Smart !!

Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

Got this as a forward and found it very interesting .... and funny too ... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank goodness there's a name for this disorder. Somehow I feel better, even though I have it!! Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D..D. - Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder. This is how it manifests: I decide to water my garden. As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing. As I start toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mail box earlier. I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys on the table, Put the junk mail in the garbage can under the table, And notice that the can is full. So, I decide to put the bills back On the table and take out the garbage first. But then I think, Since I'm going to be near the mailbox When I take out the garbage anyway, I may as well pay

Gentle Reminder !!

Good Morniiiiiiiiiiiiiiing ...... Mumbai ! This is Jhanvi on World Space Radio. अगर यही जीना है दोस्तों, तो फिर मरना क्या है? the above piece is from the movie Lage Raho Munnabhai .... voiced by Vidya Balan. putting it on my blog .. so that i can remind myself of these things every now and

Well .. i did not think i will have to post yet another of my daily horroscopes :) Scorpio - It's hard to resist the urge to buy new stuff today, even if you don't need it or can't quite afford it. If you keep your mate or best friend nearby, they might be able to help you walk away.   this is what my horroscope read over the weeekenmd ... and sure indeed it was correct ..   i bought a mobile phone ! a long pending task of buying a new phone finally culminated in Imate JasJam full screen with slide out full keyboard and windows mobile 6.0 ... :-|

Horroscope Alert !

4 th   June Horoscope Alert for Scorpio - You don't have to try to attract people (or ideas, or money, or whatever else you want). Your natural magnetic energy does all the hard work for you, so just see if you can point it in the right direction! Considering the previous blog post … I am wondering if my 'magnet' has just turned around 180 degrees and instead of attracting … its now repelling people away ... ha ha ha ha !!! -----------------------   I subscribed to these horroscope alerts since a few months and it has been fun to read them. I dont really see them and look forward to the events in the day. Its just plain fun. The comparison between reality and the predictions there in. Like the case above.

Failure

I look back at the past few years of my life and i realise that I have proved to be a hopeless failure at relationships !   Past 6 months has seen several 'The Ends' .... and the next 6 months already has one scheduled while others might be in line (I trust HIM to add more) ....   Where am I going wrong is something I often wonder ...   The worst is that I am finding myself a failure in the most important aspect of my life !!   Crazy !!

Lifetime Achievement Award

Today I completed 4 Years in Satyam ... officially !!   I got associated with Satyam earlier than my official joining date for my Winter Internship of about 3.5 months ...   So I have completed more than 4.24 years or 1560 days in Satyam ...   I wondering.... If I stay in here for another year ... someone might even give me a 'life time achivement award' :D   Past 4 years ... Satyam has taken me to Swiss, Malaysis and now Dubai. Bangalore too :)   The first 2 years were good. very good. I learnt a lot from Muralidharan (my immedieate boss - Org Change Mgmt Head) and Milind Joshi and Sushil Rathi (Practice Heads of Process Consulting Practice). I would love to work with them again as and when the opportunity comes.   The last two years at Satyam were not so good. I have not been exactly satisfied. Infact a lot of rfrustration has been building up. I am ready for a change. Provided some decently good opportunity comes by.   I got an opportunity to join IBM last ye
