Screen Sharing and the long awkward pause
Give me a minute while I share my screen .... and then a long awkward pause !! Have you seen this happening? Have you seen other people do it and been part of the helpless silent audience? Have you done it yourself & been the one who put everyone in that awkward silence? Those awkward pauses are not good. They break the flow of thoughts in their minds. You lose your audience during that awkward pause. What can you do to avoid this?? It's a very simple thing to do actually Continue to speak as you share screen. You can actually multi-task this pretty easily - continue to talk while clicking around to share screen. Practice this without an audience. Make it super smooth, without a pause. You don't even have to say you are sharing. Keep going with the natural flow of your speaking, and share the screen without taking a pause or break.
