Match-making happens in heaven and the Interview Room!

In my post about Bears and Teddy Bears, I put forth 2 questions that individuals who have suffered job loss should think about, should discuss with their teddy bears (the good people around them):

1. What was about the last job that you liked the most, enjoyed the most and what did not feel like work at all?

2. What was it about the last job that you did NOT like at all, which sapped your energy, and work felt like drudgery while executing those tasks?

Look at all the things that you wrote in there in response to those questions.

Separate the things related to skills from those related to your personality. What you felt and what you enjoyed often depends on whether your personality is aligned with the work you are doing.

Find some personality tests and discover yourself. If you have done some in the past, pull out the reports and read them again.

Start putting your personality traits and the things you enjoyed the most together and you have a clearer understanding of where your passion lies. That also opens up new avenues to explore for your next job.

Finding a job that matches your personality is a sure shot way of living the quote:

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life”

When you are interviewing for a job that matches your personality. A good interviewer will see that without you even trying. If you do a good job of ‘showing’ the fitment of your personality and the job requirements, it’s like a match made in heaven and the interviewer will spend the entire time of the interview simply trying to confirm this.
