So heres the run-down of my March viewing .... Its Complicated An english movie that explores the 'complicated' relationship between a divorced couple. How they are still attracted towards each other and get back together a couple of times to make out and things bcome complicated and embarassing at the same time. The relationships are complicated and the acting superb. Steve Martin appears in a role which is very unlike him. I have always seen him in laugh riots and this was 'different' (No. he is not the husband. He is the OTHER guy) Atithi - Tum Kab Jaaoge ? A light comedy. An entertaining watch. Devgun, Konkana and Paresh Rawal ... all in their best elements. 2 songs in the movie and both become memorable if you watch them in the movie. A bhajan on the tunes of 'beedi jalaile' (hilarious) and a remixed version of an oldie "suhani raat dhal chuki, ... na jaane tum kab aaoge" ... amazing rendering of this one. Well ... March ended and here is my reading list for the month gone by ...   1. Six Suspects by Vikas Swarup Murder Mystery with 6 suspects... i liked the way the 6 suspects were introduced ...  The book almost runs along 6 parallel tracks untill it culminates in the actual murder where all the 6 suspects are present at same place ... It was also interesting to see how the lives of some of these suspects gets connected in those few hours Liked the twists and turns in the story at the end when the murder conviction shifts from one suspect to another and so on ... Its actually nice movie material and a relative of mine who is an Assitant Director in movies (and a budding Director) tells me that a movie is being planned on it already ... would love to see it when it happens !! 2. Area 7 by Matthew Reilly Yet another fast paced action thriller from M. Reilly. I read it in less than a week ... covering about 100-150 pages every night .. at times reading till 2.30 AM into the nig...

Mumbai's Traffic Cop's duty is to control traffic or collect fines ? On so many occasions I have seen traffic cops leaving the junctions and standing about 100-150 feet away waiting to pounce on vehicles while there is traffic chaos at the junction. Even when the junction does not have a traffic light or has a faulty one … and the traffic is going for a toss. I have seen this situation several times near MIDC/SEEPZ where the traffic is pretty bad on a regular basis. On so many occasions I have seen multiple traffic cops standing together chatting and strategizing how to catch and which one (vehicle) to catch while the traffic situation at the junction goes for a toss. The worst is watching up to 6 ... yes, you read it right, it is SIX, traffic cops standing in the same spot. Yes, that's the situation I often witness under the Western Express flyover of Andheri where the traffic from the eastern side pours onto the highway and crosses under to go towards the Eas...

I walked into the Smokin Joes opposite to my office ...   Placed an order for a Pizza and handed over 500 bucks currency note to the person at the counter (strangely at this particular joint ... you place order at counter and pay first unlike other joints where it is normal dine in where u pay at the end)   The counter person tells me "Sir, no change. You give me change"   I said "Well. Then cancel the order" ... and walked out.   Change hota to Smokin Joes would have gained a bill / some revenue   Lack of change. Loss of Business !!

Books I read in February ....... 1. See Jane Die by Erica Splinder --- Kind of Murder Mystery .. nice read. i likes it.  nice twist in the tail of the tale. Nice interplay of relationships and twists and turns in the story. 2. "Love, Rosie" aka "Where Rainbows End" by Cecelia Ahern --- An absolute emotional roller coaster. For me it was reading with tears in my eyes for the first time in life. i even blogged about it while I was reading it   3. Murder in the Mews by Agatha Christie (Hercule Poirot Series) --- collection of 4 Hercules Poirot stories ... Murder in the Mews, The Incredible Theft, Dead Man's Mirror, Triangle at Rhodes ... Frankly I am not sure if I am going to pick up another one from this series. Did not really like it. --- I would rather not write anything about it except maybe 'I did not like them much' ... My fav are Sherlock Holmes, 3 Investigators and Feluda 4. Ice Station by Mathew Reilley --- Like the other Mathew Reilley ...
