Opinions and Principles
“A mark of wisdom is being quick to change our opinions, but slow to change our principles.” ~ Adam Grant
(Saw this quote on my Toastmasters WhatsApp group and it immediately struck a chord)
Leadership isn’t about always being right.
It’s about being open enough to evolve your thinking… and anchored enough to not lose your integrity while doing so.
Yet in the real world, we often get it backwards:
We cling stubbornly to our opinions,
even when they no longer serve us
And we quietly bend our values,
especially when they feel inconvenient.
The best leaders?
They listen.
They Reflect.
They Adapt.
But they never trade principles for popularity, or convenience for character.
Stay firm in value.
But flexible in thought.
That’s what earns respect.
That's what establishes credibility.
