Time Dependancy of Relationships

hi friends .... Long time i last wrote ... have been very busy .... I guess ... one thing i have learnt in the past few weeks is that i m not a very good time manager... nor can i handle relationships in the best possible manner .... After joining NITIE after summers on June 20 .... I have been busy ... simply busy .... First it was the Induction Program for the incoming batch of 100+ very interesting people. Each one unique in their own way. Some of them beautiful too. The Induction program was a nice experience. Interacting with so many people in such a short span of time. Found some good friends and a very very good friend amongst them. A friend with whom i could actually talk about the history and geography of my life. We had a great chemistry between us. I write 'had' because lately .. .we have been so busy that we dont get to spend time together. We hardly know what is going on in each others life. And i feel that it is not something which should...

Challenge - The Jap' Way

hi friends, Time is a luxury which i am unable to enZoy these days .... So here i blog today to share an interesting article that dropped in my inbox .... Its about the Japanese, Fish, sharks adn of course Challenges ... /*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/*\*/ Challenges The Japanese have always loved fresh fish. But the waters close to Japan have not held many fish for decades. So to feed the Japanese population, fishing boats got bigger and went farther than ever. The farther the fishermen went, the longer it took to bring in the fish. If the return trip took more than a few days, the fish were not fresh. The Japanese did not like the taste. To solve this problem, fishing companies installed freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freeze them at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go farther and stay longer. owever, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozen nd they did not like fro...

Return of shoOOonya ...

Its been a long long time since i last wrote on my blog .... being away from my dear cube (my PC) for an extended period and then getting involved in some close-to-the-heart projects have literally created a time crunch for me ... I fail to understand at times how i m seemingly doing so many things simultaneously ... time management becoming a headache ... but i guess its the passion which is driving me .... the projects .. each in itself starting from a small idea and slowly growing and transforming into a giant which is becoming more and more difficult to control. of course, there are people and friends to help me out .. let me write-off todays blog with something interesting ..... a small story about how seemingly unrelated things in life can create a big IMPACT in your life ....   NEVER under-estimate the creative acumen of God and Destiny ... ;-) here goes the short wonderful story... just takes two minutes to read. A little mouse living o...

The Paradox of Life

Hi friends .... quite some time that i have posted something .... heres something .... the Paradox of Life ..... ... The comedy of tragedy of our dead lives ... The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness. We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to ...

An Interview

An Interview : A different point of view .... Interview: Henry Mintzberg, Don't Hire MBAs for Management Jobs by David Creelman Henry Mintzberg is among the world's most revered management thinkers. His most recent book, Managers Not MBAs looks at what it takes to develop managers and why MBAs don't generally make good ones. David Creelman (who has an MBA) met with Dr. Mintzberg to explore these ideas. DC- We're coming up to the end of the graduate recruiting cycle and it's a good time for managers to look back on their hiring strategy. Having read your book, I've got to think that if we're hiring MBAs, we're making a mistake. HM- Hiring MBAs as analysts is OK, but if you are hiring them as managers, you are playing Russian roulette. DC- Even if I hire them as analysts, I see them as being the source of my future management talent, so the problems with MBAs are a real concern. What is it that makes MBAs bad managers? HM – I...

Favourite Ad Campaigns of Shunu Sen

Nice Article .... Marketing ... Advertising ... what not & what not ... some Gyan .... My favourite campaigns - Shunu Sen My favourite brands with which I have had a close acquaintance include Liril, a brand that was conceived by a group of young managers from Hindustan Lever and Lintas nearly 30 years ago. The advertisement created history. The brand became the market leader in its category within a year of its launch. "You answer so many questions on branding and advertising. Could you tell us about a few of your favourite Indian brands and why you think they are good? What makes them tick and what is their future? And, could you also tell us about brands that you didn't like or you thought were flops?" - K. Sunita, on e-mail WHAT an interesting question! And, not very easy to answer. However, let me try and answer this question to the best of my ability. Let me divide the favourite Indian brands, which I have had something to do with and t...
