CHERISH YOUR GOLDEN - OLDEN DAYS A tribute to DOORDARSHAN ... our entertainment destination on the idiot Box in those old times ... The generation gap. Stuff that those who belong to my generation will identify with...that people even a few years younger won't. Because they belong to the new liberalized India with cable TV and all that. National integration videos: The ek chidiya one, the one where people sing in different languages- mile sur mera tumhara ...where I'd pretend to sing along with the languages and dialects I didn't know. Or the one with Indian sportspeople running and that fantastic shot of P.T. Usha running along some deer and Kapil Dev emerging from a tunnel to give the flame to a drenched Sunil Gavaskar. And remember Narendra Hirwani singing in the first video?? Or that bit where the three heroes- Amitabh, Mithun and someone else (Vinod Khanna I guess ..) sing lustily?? Jaaneman ... A recent release from bollywood ... To start with .. When i heard of a movie called Jaaneman .. i said Not Again ... yet another stupid romantic ... When i heard of Salman Khan being the lead star .. i said Not Again ... when was the last time he 'acted' ... When i heard of Akshay Kumar being supportive actor ... i said Not Again ... a la Dil to Pagal Hain ... When i heard of Priti Zinta having a new born baby in movie... i said Not Again ... isnt she getting tired of being Pregnant in movies ... When i heard that the movie was good from my friends ... i said Not Again ... oops .. no no .. i did not say that .. i just said ... NOT AGAIN (loud and clear)... I saw DON on your reviews ... But Damn ... how can i not listen to my friends ... and so I saw it ... And BOY .. was i surprised ... Jaaneman turned out to be everythign that DON was NOT ... Great Movie, nice dialogues, fantastic screenplay, fantabulous creative and art direction , superb Direction...

Ever heard about the FREE HUGS campaign ... have a look here ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL7Jo_1Z3Y8 (Tried to put the video here itself but did not work) Today we had a similar Free Hugs meet in Geneva ... 30 Enthusiastic Volunteers of GenevaOnLine.ch Community gathered to HUG the World For two hours ... the HUGGERS spread warmth around them ... One Unique thing about this meet was the Global Representation we had. geneva, being a city of UN Organisations, we find people from practically all parts of the world here. The 30 Huggers practically represented people from all over the world Of course, I am not uploading any video of the same for the simple reason ... I did not shoot one ... After all, I was one of the HUGGERS .... :) Will post the Geneva Free Hugs Video as soon as i can get a copy :))

I had heard that Don (2006) had not got good reviews ... some friends liked it .. others said it was a waste of time ... then someone ... hey ... nice twist in the end ... I was myself recomending people NOT to see the movie based on these perception ... But ... as fate may have it ... i ended up spending 3 hours of my time watching the movie ... My review ... based on personal experience and not on hearsay ... DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT WATCHING THIS MOVIE ... DON (2006) is the shoddiest, most ill-concieved, ill-directed, ill-scripted, ill-choreagraphed, ill-acted , ill-musical'ed, ill-etc ... movie I have seen in the recent past .... Farhan had thought out a very fantastic twist in the tail .. or is it tale .. whatever .. but he messed up the movie .. completely ... I cannot appreciate a single thing in the movie ... The story line was confused .. not confusing .. but confused ... there were soooooo many inconsistencies in the movie .. in the dialogues ... in the storyline ... it ...
