Krishna was the ultimate Leader, Mentor and Coach. He did not fight Arjuna’s battle for him. At Kurukshetra, Arjuna was not lacking skill, experience or courage. He was overwhelmed by conflict within himself. Krishna did not pick up the bow for him. He did not make the problem disappear. He did not simply tell him what he wanted to hear. He challenged his thinking. Expanded his perspective. Questioned his assumptions. Reconnected him with purpose and duty. Helped him find clarity to make his own choice. Then Arjuna had to act. By himself. He had to make his own choice. There is a profound lesson here for every coach, mentor and leader. Our role is NOT to provide answers.
