The point where our dreams are fulfilled, your struggle begins

#WeekendMusings : The whole Rishi Sunak Sky TV comment reminds me of the now-famous quote by actor Siddhant Chaturvedi

"Jahan hamare sapne poore hote hain wahan inka struggle shuru hota hai"

Translated as "The point where our dreams are fulfilled, your struggle begins"

It paints such a dramatically and drastically different and contrasting worldview of people coming from different walks of life, different economic and privileged strata of society.

And frankly, it is extremely difficult to have the view from the other side of the lake. You can't imagine what it is like if you have never experienced it. So you can be excused for not knowing what it feels like and if you don't have empathy for them.

BUT what does not get excused is the total lack of awareness about the existence of the other side and not being sensitive to their view and context.

As a Political Leader in a state/country,

it becomes unpardonable as you are responsible for making it right for the majority and for all - you devise policies and government programs that benefit all and not just some. You have to be cognizant that all strata of the society get representation.

As an Executive Leader in an organization, your responsibility is no different.

You have to be mindful of the intellectual, technical, and functional capability of your teams and mentor/coach them accordingly. One size does not fit all and you do have a responsibility towards each member of your team and not just the best performer on whom you choose to invest most of your time. You will end up ignoring the hidden gems!

As an individual,

Don't be limited by your dreams.

Don't be limited by your capabilities.

Don't be limited by your starting point.

What got you here, won't get you there.

So, Be Yourself and once you achieve that,

Don't Be Yourself. Become the Better You !

Weekend Thought experiment:

Find what's limiting you and

design a plan of action

to overcome it
